People usually see amusement parks as a destination for kids to have a fun time, but I see amusement parks as a place for everyone who is young at heart, irrespective of their age. Amusement parks make up for a great one-day outing, as you have everything you need to keep you and your little one entertained, all under one roof. When it comes to our country, India has some great options when it comes to these amusement and theme parks. Keep on reading to find out which of these famous amusement parks you might have missed out on.

Black Thunder Water Park

Though this park brands itself as a water park, you can find both wet and dry activities here to spend the day. Black Thunder Water Park is located at the foothills of the Nilgiri. The park has over 40 rides that include a wave pool, lots of slides, horse rides, camel rides and even boating. Since Black Thunder is located in such a scenic destination, you can have a bird’s eye view of the Nilgiri Hills in a hot air balloon ride that the park offers. For people who decide to spend a night, they can do so at the hotel located on the premises.

Veegaland Amusement Park

Veegaland Amusement Park is well renowned for being Kerala’s most famous amusement park. The park is situated at the top of a hill in Pallikkara, Cochin and is now known as Wonderla. The park is spread over an area of 20 acres and has rides that are classified under four different categories that being family, hair raising, kiddies and water. The park also has a 3-D movie theatre and a boat ride called Wonder Splash, which is a popular boat ride into a mystery filled cave that ends with a splash in the pool.

Ramoji Film City

It is no secret that Bollywood is a massive and world-renowned industry and Ramoji Film City lets you get a step closer and take a peek into the dreamy, glamour filled world of Bollywood. This place is known to be the largest studio complex in the world and if you are lucky enough you might get to see an actual movie shoot happening here. On your visit to Ramoji Film City, you will have the opportunity to visit legit film sets and that includes some iconic Bollywood classics. You could also spot replicas of many world-famous monuments here, so keep an eye out for that.

Timing: 9:00am — 5:30pm

Funtasia Water Park

Bihar’s first-ever water park, Funtasia Water Park is the perfect destination to go to beat the heat on a hot summer day. The park has a tonne of options for kids and adults, so you are not going to get bored at all. The park has a wave pool, plenty of swimming pools and heaps of slides for you to choose from. The park offers a wide range of food stalls, restaurants and coffee shops where you can go to grab a quick bite for when you get hungry from having a gala time.

Timing: 11:00am — 6:00pm

Aquatica Water Park

Aquatica is one of Kolkata’s biggest water parks. This water park has a variety of pools and slides to keep you entertained. The park has pools for kids, a wave pool and even a hot tub. Those of you who forget to carry your swimwear can very conveniently purchase or rent swimwear, tubes and towels here at the park. Aquatica also has its own resort for those of you who wish to spend a day or two at the water park. The restaurant here at the park serve cuisines like Chinese, Indian and Continental.

Timing: 10:00am — 6:00pm
