‘The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.’

— Augustine of Hippo

Humans are social animals. We thrive in group settings and love to be in company of other people. We form institutions wherever we go, at home we have our families and outside our homes we have our friends which are our chosen family. With all these relations come expectations and obligations and many a times we fail to fulfill all of them. This is where pressure starts to build up and we start becoming slaves to this need for pleasing people.

As much as we need company for survival, we need to be alone for our growth. Many people take solo trips as a way to find themselves and see them for what they are without the unnecessary social pressure. Solo traveling is a very intimidating concept for many, yet it is something that we need to experience for ourselves to understand its importance. When you are on your own on the road you have plenty of time to think about your choices and decisions and clear out your mind.

With that being said, solo traveling has started to gain popularity and is a highly preferred traveling option in the travel community. If you are new to this idea or want to take your first solo trip but don’t know where to go, this might be the article for you.
